Dr Priti Kothari

Dr. Priti M. Kothari, MD is a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry. She has been serving the South Florida community in private practice since 2005, providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and individualized medication/therapy management for patients as young as one year old through adulthood.

Dr. Kothari completed her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital after finishing her Adult Psychiatry residency at the University of Maryland/Sheppard Pratt Hospitals. She earned her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and holds a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology with a concentration in Women’s Studies from Princeton University, reflecting her long-standing interest in the intersection of culture, gender, and mental health.

Her clinical expertise spans ADHD, Autism, Anxiety Disorders, Mood Disorders, OCD, Tourette’s syndrome, PTSD, amongst other disorders. She is also trained in Cogmed Working Memory Training, Lindamood-Bell program, forms of educational testing, and other integrative programs that connect learning, development, and emotional well-being.

Known for her thorough and collaborative approach, Dr. Kothari considers biological, cognitive, behavioral, and psychosocial factors in treatment. She is recognized for her accessibility, close follow-up, and culturally sensitive care, with attention not only to the individual but also to family systems.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Kothari serves as an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Florida, Preceptor at Nova, and Advisor and Board Member at Florida Atlantic University. She is an active member of the American Psychiatric Association, American Academy of Child Psychiatry, Indian Physicians of Florida, Princeton Women’s Association, International OCD Foundation, Tourette Syndrome Association, along with numerous other academic and nonprofit institutions.

Her dedication extends beyond the office through community education, advocacy, and volunteer leadership. She has spoken at institutions including Cleveland Clinic Florida, as well as other regional healthcare facilities. She is a national speaker for organizations and groups such as OCD, ADHD, Tourette’s, and Autism nonprofits. In recognition of her contributions, Palm Beach County officially proclaimed November 4, 2025, as “Dr. Priti M. Kothari Day.”

Dr. Kothari has received national recognition for leadership and scholarship, including the American Psychiatric Association/Aventis Travel Fellowship for Women Resident Leaders in Psychiatry, and has published in peer-reviewed journals in child and adolescent psychiatry.

Outside of medicine, she enjoys yoga, travel, reading, and spending time at the beach. Her biggest passion both inside and outside the office is advocacy for neurodivergence in the community.
